East Kanpur (aka Trans-Ganges) is an administrative district of the Kanpur in India.
East Kanpur is bounded by the Ganges River on the west, to the north, Unnao District of Uttar Pradesh state to the east, and Lucknow District of Uttar Pradesh to the south.
East Kanpur has a population of 548,770 (2001 census), and an area of 64 km², with a population density of 22,638 persons per km².
Administratively, the district is divided into three subdivisions, Shuklaganj, Magarwara, and Gangotri Township.
